Find out chic and comfortable Thanksgiving outfit ideas for women!

My family and I are in a planning sprint on how to go about our Thanksgiving party. I am too. Since we’ll be spending it out of state, I have to work hard to make sure I get to publish all the posts I want in the coming weeks. I also prepare what to wear. Your outfits during the holiday are very important. Aside from the fact you want to look and feel good during your gathering, you want to feel comfortable when you have to run errands or travel – like me! – without compromising style and fashion. How do you do it? Read my Thanksgiving outfit ideas for women!

Chic And Comfortable Thanksgiving Outfit Ideas For Women

13 Fall Fashion Choices You Can Mix And Match For Your Personal Thanksgiving Style

My choices for Thanksgiving outfit ideas for women are a combination of timeless, basic pieces and trendy ones. I made it this way because I want to let you know you don’t need a complete overhaul of your closet every fall just to look your best! However, a little update here and there, as well as a smart mix and match, helps avoid making you look plain and boring.

1. Sneakers

|

Boots or sneakers? We all know either of the two do very well this fall, but since we’re looking for comfort, I believe sneakers win. I also love the fact they help create a more casual, laid-back feel than boots. They’re ultra stylish too! You can pair them with almost all of the pieces found on this list.

2. Plaid Sleeves

|

Plaid sleeves are a fall classic and the easiest way to add color to the season, and they come in different styles including gingham and flannel. But don’t limit yourselves to sleeves! Today you can find plaid skirts, pantsuits, and pants, just to name a few.

3. Cardigan

How do you spell warm this Thanksgiving? It’s cardigan of course! A combination of ripped jeans, ankle-length boots, loose top, and a cozy long cardigan is all you need to look street chic.

4. Tights

Can you ever imagine fall without tights? I can’t! But here’s the thing: tights are so common they can look boring. To make it appear updated, pair them with sneakers, bright tops, and shorts (instead of skirts). Or you can be extra stylish, choosing non-black colors or even printed ones. And please don’t commit this grievous fashion faux pas: wearing them like jeans! They’re not jeans, so you have to wear them underneath something!

5. Modern Vintage

|

Bell-bottom jeans, floral printed dresses, and ruffles are just some of the retro outfits that are making a huge comeback this season, giving you the license to go modern vintage during your Thanksgiving get-together. For a more smashing and sexy look, I highly recommend this scoop-neck figure-hugging midi dress from Amazon for as low as less than $14! Classy, retro, and beautiful.

6. Skirts

|

Short skirts, long skirts, midi skirts, flowing skirts – you never run out of choices. Heck, you can even wear a tutu! These skirts can go well with boots, heels, wedges, and sneakers. You can also pair them with loose tops, plain shirts, bomber jackets, and statement furs. Just don’t try mixing your long skirts with tights, or else, the look is useless. Be careful too with long skirts paired with oversized coats or furs, especially if you’re petite, as they can make you look smaller. Don’t wear big jackets, sweaters, and tops whose lengths are longer than your skirt.

7. Ponchos And Cape Coats

I love ponchos and cape coats! I basically have about five pieces of them, and I bring around two to three every time I travel. I actually prefer them over jackets and sweaters since they’re extremely easy to wear and take off. Best of all, they make a statement especially if you go for patterns or bold monochromatic colors. But please, avoid wearing ponchos over very short skirts.

8. Statement Furs

When it comes to fur, the trend is big, bold, and fun. So embrace less-preferred colors like pink, green, and red, as well as furs with furry balls (yes, you can find one) and patterned furs. In other words, be daring!

9. Oversized Coats

Oversized coats are still so in this season, but while you can go for a safe combo of boots, casual shirt, and jeans or loose pants, these coats can look just as great on a maxi dress, in trendy colors like pantone, long skirts, stilettos, and leather boots.

10. Prints

|

A blazer with safari print is all you need to keep yourself warm, chic, and glam this Thanksgiving. If this print is too much for you, then try something else like geometric, abstract, or floral. In fact, you can go for print on print, although this one is tricky to pull off. Needless to say, right now you’ll never go wrong with this style.

11. Ripped Jeans

These days a girl’s closet should already include a pair of acid-washed ripped jeans. It’s one of the cool ways to look sexy and edgy without showing too much skin. Any woman – and I mean anyone – who dares to wear it can instantly look glam especially when it’s paired with high heels, plain top, and accessories like scarves and wide or fedora hats. Ooh, just sexy!

12. Grunge

Grunge is also making a huge comeback, although it’s more tamed and styled than the original. It’s also easy to recreate this look: boots, tights, shorts, and statement shirts, and you’re good to go. But to complete your spunky persona this Thanksgiving, don’t forget to pair your outfit with the right makeup.

13. Blue

Blue is one of the stand-out colors this season, partly because the marine look is trendy. Personally, blue reflects the mood of the season: cold but bright! The easiest, most practical, and most comfortable way to embrace blue is to wear denim jeans, or you can go retro such as the image above.

Are you ready for the Thanksgiving? These Thanksgiving outfit ideas for women should give you a really nice head start and provide you with one thing to worry less. Nevertheless, remember, when it comes to fashion and style, trendy isn’t a priority. It’s about sticking with pieces that reflect your own sense of fashion, personality, and confidence. Holiday Hangover Beauty Fix | Revive Your Skin With These Easy Tips https://makeuptutorials.com/holiday-beauty-hangover-cure/ https://makeuptutorials.com/holiday-beauty-hangover-cure/#respond Wed, 01 Jan 2025 16:56:59 +0000 https://makeuptutorials.com/?p=35274 Got a holiday hangover ? We’ve got the Holiday Hangover Beauty Fix you need to get by all season. Here’s how to deal with dull skin, puffy eyes, and tired-looking faces and easy tips to get rid of them as soon as possible.

Holiday Hangover Beauty Fixes To Cure Your Skin Stat

The beers, late nights, food, and even the stress that come with preparing for the holidays can definitely take a toll on your skin. The holiday hangover affects your skin pretty badly leaving you with dull and dry skin, puffy eyes, black circles underneath the eyes, chapped lips, and an overall tired-looking face. I have here easy suggestions to revive your face and make it look fresh again!

1. Get Rid Of Puffy Eyes

To get rid of puffy eyes, use First Aid BeautyDetox Eye Roller. One of its active ingredients is caffeine, which constricts the blood vessels and reduces the appearance of puffiness. The roller also eases the build-up of the lymph fluids, which cause the puffiness. It is also rich in antioxidants to nourish your eye’s delicate skin.

2. Exfoliate

Get rid of the old skin and let your new skin shine through. This is why exfoliating is extremely important, especially if you already have a dull, dry, flaky, and itchy skin. I am a huge fan of Clinique’s Exfoliating Scrub because it smells of menthol, which further adds the feeling of freshness and cleanliness. It’s also perfect for me since I have oily skin. You also need this too if you’re prone to breaking out, especially when under a lot of stress.

But don’t worry about hurting your skin. Look at how beautiful the texture is. It’s not too watery but not too thick either, and you hardly see the microbeads unlike in other products. It’s definitely gentle on the skin.

3. Moisturize

Let’s assume you don’t have any time to do all these holiday hangover skin cure tips. Well, just do this: moisturize. It’s one of the instant ways say goodbye to your tired-looking and dull skin! My new favorite is L’Oreal Paris Revitalift Volume Filler cream. It doesn’t just give you a healthy glow, it also improves the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles due to one of its active ingredients called hyaluronic acid, which helps maintain the firmness of your skin.

It’s never too early start preparing for the holidays! 😉🎄

4. Rescue Your Lips

Alcohol, stress, fatigue, lack of sleep, and all the major causes of bad skin can also reflect on the lips, leaving them chapped and flaky. To deal with this, I have two suggestions. For an immediate cure, try Hourglass Lip Treatment Oil. The combination of essential oils and plant extracts benefit your lips in so many ways. They provide moisture, make your lips plumper and smoother, and even improve the shape of your lips! Hourglass is also vegan and cruelty-free, so that’s a major plus.

5. Energize Your Skin

Energize Your Skin | Holiday Hangover Beauty Fix | Revive Your Skin With These Easy Tips

The cheapest way to revive your tired skin is to drink water – lots of it. It’s the best moisturizer in the world. But let’s face it, not everyone meets the recommended amount of water to drink every day. In fact, a lot of people don’t love to drink water or simply forget doing it. As an alternative, try  Dr. Jart’s  Water-Full Hydrating Gel Mask. It contains cranberry fruit extract, hyaluronic acid, and olive leaf extract to smooth fine lines, moisturize the skin, and cool your face, which helps if you have some redness or swelling. The no-mess mask comes in two parts, the face and the chin, for a full coverage. You put this for 30 minutes, which is basically enough time to prep for work.

6. Emphasize Your Eyes

Make your eyes pop! Give the appearance of fully awake eyes by applying some mascara. You can choose a lot of great mascaras in the market today, but I especially like L’Oreal’s Volume Million Lashes Fatale, which creates lash volume through its multi-layer brush.

7. Correct Skin Issues

Correct Skin Issues | Holiday Hangover Beauty Fix | Revive Your Skin With These Easy Tips

Some skin issues like redness can sometimes take time to get rid of, so if you need an instant concealer, I highly recommend Smashbox Color Correcting Sticks, which are available in different shades depending on your skin issue. For example, if you have redness, try green (Get Less Red). You can also get lavender (Don’t Be Dull) to avoid yellowness and either orange (Look Less Tired -Dark) or peach (Look Less Tired – Light) to conceal hyperpigmentation and dark circles.

If you want to learn how to apply these color correcting sticks, then you better check out this video by Lynnette Hernandez:

How does it feel to have the right cures for your holiday hangover? Surely you’re feeling a whole lot better. You can use these tips too in the future holidays – and there will be a lot – and late night outs with friends, so if you ever buy these, you will get your money’s worth. In the meantime, get good sleep, enjoy some me time, and go back to taking care of your skin.

Snapchat Rainbow Filter | Be Silly On Your Thanksgiving Party https://makeuptutorials.com/snapchat-rainbow-filter/ https://makeuptutorials.com/snapchat-rainbow-filter/#respond Mon, 28 Oct 2024 20:00:53 +0000 https://makeuptutorials.com/?p=34329 Thanksgiving is definitely upon us! As a season of family gathering and awesome food, it’s a great time to go silly and surprise your loved ones with this cute Snapchat rainbow filter makeup tutorial!
Judging by the massive traffic I received for my Halloween posts, it’s safe to say a lot of us love the season. As I mentioned before, it’s one of my favorite holidays. It’s fun, it’s a great way to show off creativity and imagination, and it’s an amazing avenue to bond with friends or even meet new ones. But that’s not the only holiday we look forward to. We also super-love the Christmas holiday season! In our household, we start it with celebrating Thanksgiving! Now we think of a Thanksgiving party or dinner to be quiet, proper, and serene, but it’s also a great time to have fun and be silly like wearing this one:

Snapchat Rainbow Filter | Be Silly On Your Thanksgiving Party

Easy, Simple Steps To Recreate The Snapchat Rainbow Filter That Is Sure to Bring Laughs

“Why should I wear a Snapchat rainbow filter on a Thanksgiving dinner?” you may ask. I know you’re thinking it’s such a silly suggestion, but that’s the point! Thanksgiving is an amazing time to gather around a table with the people you love and who love you, and what better way to add more happiness than taking yourself less seriously. Are you game enough to try it? Then here’s a makeup tutorial I did for Makeup Tutorials together with my friend.

Products you’ll need for the Snapchat Rainbow Filter:

Before you do the steps below, always remember one thing: apply foundation to make sure your makeup sticks well to your skin. Also, just like a canvas, you want to make it clean before you do some painting, so using a foundation and a concealer can create a smoother look.

Step 1. Start with the eyes.

Apply Gold Eyeshadow | Snapchat Rainbow Filter Be Silly On Your Thanksgiving Party

If you’ve been paying attention to my makeup tutorials, you will realize I always like to begin with the eyes. It’s because it’s the hardest to work with. You can’t apply too much or too little there, and it’s more difficult to “remove your errors,” so to speak, such as your eyeshadows and eyeliners (it happened to me a couple of times before, and let me tell you, I look like I’ve been beaten black and blue the next day).

Done? Then we’re ready to recreate the Snapchat rainbow filter!

Okay, first step: apply gold eyeshadows on your upper eyelids. Don’t go overboard with the shade! We don’t want to look like a clown.

White Eyeliner | Snapchat Rainbow Filter Be Silly On Your Thanksgiving Party

Then apply your Kleancolor retractable waterproof white eyeliner ($1.44/each), covering your entire lower eyelid, the edges or corners of the eyes, and just a wee bit for the upper eyelid. Don’t know how to apply your eyeliner? Here’s a tutorial for you!

Brown Eyeliner | Snapchat Rainbow Filter Be Silly On Your Thanksgiving Party

To make your eye makeup for the Snapchat rainbow filter appear more seamless, get your gold eyeshadow and dab some below your white eyeliner.

Step 2. Work on the lashes.

False Eyelashes | Snapchat Rainbow Filter Be Silly On Your Thanksgiving Party

I love big “popping” eyes! Well, I am just crazy with eye makeup – that’s the truth. That’s why I combine any eye makeup with false eyelashes and great mascara. Attaching eyelash extensions can be tricky, especially for beginners, so you may want to go through this tutorial first.

And because we don’t like those fake lashes to look really fake, I’ve got a few pointers for you. First, use extensions with colors that match your natural ones. Second, make use of tweezers! Further, when applying your mascara, use it for both your fake and natural ones. Don’t forget to utilize your lash curlers for both.

Step 3. Proceed with the face.

Add Blush | Snapchat Rainbow Filter Be Silly On Your Thanksgiving Party

Get your light pink blush and apply the shade on your cheeks and bridge of the nose. Blend well. To make it appear as if your face is glowing – or as if you’ve just snapped a photo! – dab a highlighter at the tip of your nose. I use Kleancolor American Eyecon Wet/Dry Baked Eyeshadow – Calla ($1).

Then work on your lips by using Kleancolor in Barely Pink ($5.97). I super love this lippy because it’s not only cheap, it’s creamy and has a truly beautiful, clean, and smooth pink shade. It stays on the lips for a long time too!

Step 4. Paint a rainbow!

Rainbow Paint | Snapchat Rainbow Filter Be Silly On Your Thanksgiving Party

And now we’ve come to the best part of our Snapchat rainbow filter tutorial. We’re going to create a really, really gorgeous rainbow! Keep your makeup somewhere for a while and grab your face paint. To recreate the look, we’re going to need a few choice colors, which are red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple (or you can make your own color combination – again, be creative!). For example, since I adore pink, I can use different shades of the color or tones similar to it.

Paint a line of each color from your bottom lip to your collarbone, beginning with red. Use your thin paintbrush.

Step 5. Make yourself sparkle.

Sparkles | Snapchat Rainbow Filter Be Silly On Your Thanksgiving Party

We’re so close to completing our Snapchat rainbow filter look! Because it’s Thanksgiving, which is basically a festivity for a lot of us, we can add some sparkles on our face! To do this, use your white face paint and make some stars and dots to give the illusion of sparkle. You can then put colored dots below each of your rainbow band.

Tada! Don’t you look amazing and cute? To see how all these steps work out, check out this Makeuptutorial video:

Feeling the Thanksgiving vibe with this Snapchat rainbow filter makeup tutorial? I know I am! I do love making people happy – which explains why I share makeup and hair tips with you guys – and the holiday party is one of my best venues to relax and be happy and silly! Do this when you want to spread love and fun this Thanksgiving.

The Night Before Thanksgiving Makeup Guide You Need To Look Fab https://makeuptutorials.com/night-before-thanksgiving-makeup-guide/ https://makeuptutorials.com/night-before-thanksgiving-makeup-guide/#respond Tue, 24 Nov 2020 01:00:07 +0000 https://makeuptutorials.com/?p=35118 Going out the night before Thanksgiving? Here’s a makeup guide so you can look fab all throughout the night!

A hardcore night before thanksgiving needs a makeup look that stays put all night long. It should be able to resist sweat, chronic laughing, a steamy environment, and the blushing of your cheeks from too much alcohol. So without further adieu, here’s your night before thanksgiving makeup guide to help you out!

The Night Before Thanksgiving Makeup Guide You Need Now

1. Moisturize Your Face

african-american-woman-applying-cosmetic-antiwrinkle | party makeup

One of the first products you should prepare the night before Thanksgiving is a moisturizer. Beer, smoke, and staying up ’til the wee hours of the night will dehydrate your skin. Since you won’t be drinking too much water, prep your skin by giving it the moisture it needs for the whole night.

There are a lot of great moisturizers in the market and Olay Active Hydrating Beauty Fluid Lotion is one of them. I have a couple of Olay products and I can attest to their non-greasiness. They work in many different types of skin, including sensitive. Plus, it has a drugstore price! You can get this for only $16.92 for a pack of 2.

2. Use a Hydrating Primer

lifestyle-portrait-young-happy-beautiful-latin | thanksgiving skincare

A skin hangover primer for a night of drinking? GENIUS! Look fresh and ready for the night with this hydrating primer from Too Faced. It’s composed of healthy skin ingredients including probiotics for a quick skin hangover cure. It’s a cult favorite.

It also keeps your makeup put together more beautifully! There’s very little chance someone will know you’ve been out and about one bar after the other. This plus your go-to foundation, a bit of baking, and you’re good for the night!

3. Go Bold

close-indoor-photo-refined-european-woman | party makeup

The night before Thanksgiving is a busy night of drinking full of new people to meet. *winks* Thus, I would recommend keeping your look bold and glam. How do you do it? Two ways– go all out or focus on one area of your face.

If you want to highlight your lips, add a pop of red or similar shades. Go for the shades that are the best this season.

glam hairstyle can also work on its own as a statement. Keep your skin plain with a few touches of lashes, liner, and lips, and you’re done!

4. Make Eyeliner Your Bestfriend

young-woman-disappointed-her-skill-applying | holiday makeup

I have to say that eyeliners are my best friends both for the night before Thanksgiving AND during Thanksgiving–because going through bars and cooking turkey after Drinksgiving are hard tasks my makeup needs to come through from.

For your look, you can put on a smokey eyeshadow paired with a classic feline flick and dramatic lashes.

One of the best recommendations I have for you is the Stila Liquid Eyeliner, which is an all-day wear product that won’t budge! It looks polished and creates a sexy winged look. It’s also easy to use and remove.

5. Waterproof Mascara Should Be Your Next Bestfriend

beauty-model-teenage-girl-looking-mirror- | thanksgiving makeup looks

For your mascara, I suggest you choose waterproof the Maybelline New York Volum’ Express The Falsies Flared Waterproof Mascara is one of the new mascaras from this makeup powerhouse. It creates a beautiful, long and curled lash effect and promises not to smudge while you sweat through the bars the night before thanksgiving.

Maybelline is well known for its mascaras. In fact, their oldest mascara product has been around for more than 35 years, which means it’s a trustworthy company. Not only that, their products are affordable so you don’t have any excuse not to buy one today.

6. Wear Your Festive Makeup

beautiful-brunette-girl-looks-makeup-mirror- | makeup looks

The night before Thanksgiving is the perfect time to show off your makeup skills and to try those makeup tutorials on youtube.  You can have any look you want. You can make it smoky, shimmery, highlighted to the gods, and colorful. I prefer something festive, which is like a combination of all that I mentioned, it’s bright, bold, and colorful! To achieve the look, you need a couple of things.

First, you need a great eyeshadow palette. The KyShadow Bronze Palette is a good choice, particularly if you can’t get your hands on her burgundy palette. It’s smooth, there are many shades you can mix, and it’s buildable.

Then you line your upper lids with glitter! Urban Decay has a fantastic selection of glitter eyeliners to choose from.

7. Find a Gorgeous Longwearing Lipstick

dose-of-colors-lipstick-swatches | thanksgiving makeup

Of course, any makeup look wouldn’t be complete without lipstick. Keep it bold and festive by wearing either brighter or deeper shades. I suggest wearing matte formulas so you only need minimal retouching for the night.

With that said, I highly recommend the Dose of Colors liquid matte lipsticks. They have a wide range of lipsticks from nude to bold shades. My favorite for parties is Brick, the perfect brown-based vampy rep lip shade for a night out.

If you’re not feeling the matte vibe, Mac Cosmetics has a great range of other finishes that glides smoothly on the lips and creates a nice sheen, so you may forego a lipgloss. (PS: Find Mac expensive? Here are equally great choices.)

How about this gorgeous Thanksgiving makeup tutorial:

Would you like to look festive and glam on the night before Thanksgiving? Of course, who doesn’t, right? We know your girlfriends won’t judge because they’re probably doing the same thing. Great minds think alike indeed. With this guide, you don’t have to worry about your makeup for the night before Thanksgiving. Enjoy!

Ola, ladies! Are you busy prepping for Thanksgiving and Black Friday sales? What exactly are your plans? For me, my family’s coming over instead of us going to them which is awesome because I get to host my own dinner. It’s gonna be pretty stressful but I’m totally excited to prepare everything!

I also need to make sure I am ready for shopping the next day. If you don’t have your wishlist ready yet, then keep your tabs on where the sales are happening right here. But we all know the festivities don’t start on Thanksgiving, right?

Before that, we have Blackout Wednesday AKA Drinksgiving. While this is a truly fun time, it can also give us a rather bad skin hangover. Back in my days, Blackout Wednesday was a huge deal–well, it still is if it weren’t for the pandemic. We had a lot of fun going to different bars, unwinding, drinking, relaxing, talking, and doing a few pranks on random people when we had too much to drink.

Do you have makeup and skincare tips for Thanksgiving? Share them with us in the comments section! We’d like to add them to our list.
