Fall makeup 2025 is already emerging as one of the most iconic seasons yet. The looks dominating runways and FYPs are the kind you can actually recreate on a weekday morning. Even better, you won’t be needing a pro kit or two hours of blending. Instead of over-the-top glam, the autumn roundup’s vibe is laid-back and lived-in like a stylish wing you can flick in minutes and eyes that look better a little undone. If you’ve ever wanted trends that feel authentic and not just “for the photos,” this is your season.

Fall Makeup 2025: What’s In, What’s Out, What Works

Below, we round up five standout looks from the Fall makeup 2025 lineup.

1. Satin Sheen Skin

Matte bases feel too flat to wear, while full-on glass skin can sometimes get greasy. Satin skin has the right balance with a sheer foundation that evens out the complexion and a creamy blush that melts into the cheeks.

Get the Look:

Swap heavy foundation for a skin tint, blend cream blush with your fingertips, and keep powder to the center of your face only.

2. Metallic Grunge

Forget the mismatched foundations of the ‘90s. The 2025 version of grunge leans on metallic eyeshadows, smudged liner, and glossy finishes. It also looks edgy-cool and photographs well.

Get the Look:

Smudge kohl along your lash line, then tap metallic shadow over the top with your finger. Pair with a blurred lip to keep the look modern and edgy.

3. Undone “Gungey” Eyes

If your eyeliner smudges by 3 p.m. and still looks cool, that’s the idea of the gungey eye. The look comes together with thick lashes and hazy liner past the lashes.

Get the Look:

Line the lower lash line using a beauty pencil, blend with a cotton swab or fingertip, then add two coats of mascara without brushing out the clumps.

Rimmel Scandaleyes Kohl Kajal Eyeliner
  • High intensity color for an instant color impact.
  • Ultra smooth & creamy formula that glides on easily.

4. Barely-There Complexion

This season’s base products are designed to let skin show through. Brands are releasing skin tints and serum foundations that highlight freckles and texture, rather than hiding them. Expect featherlight coverage and natural-looking flush.

Get the Look:

Use concealer only under the eyes and around blemishes, apply a sheer skin tint, and finish with cream blush on the apples of your cheeks. Try the L’Oréal True Match Nude Tinted Serum (Medium 4–5)

5. Statement Liner Flicks

One detail standing out for fall is the liner. Slim gel flicks at the lids’ outer corners and colored waterlines are quite popular on runways and TikTok feeds nowadays.

Get the Look:

Start with a fine-tipped gel liner, keep the line close to the lashes, and flick outward just slightly. If you’re feeling bold, swap black for cobalt or emerald. Grab the NYX Epic Ink Liner (Black)

The Bottom Line on Fall Makeup 2025

The Fall makeup 2025 lineup proves that trends don’t have to mean starting over or buying the newest products. Even small tweaks such as a smudgier liner or a touch of metallic shade can elevate the whole look. Which of these makeup styles are you most excited to try first?

FAQs

What colors are trending for fall makeup 2025?
Expect to see rich browns, taupes, and berries alongside metallic flashes like copper and silver.

Is fall makeup 2025 more natural or dramatic?
A mix of both. Complexion trends are going natural with skin tints and minimal coverage, while eyes and liner lean grungy, smoky, or sharp.

Can I try these trends with drugstore products?
Absolutely. Satin skin works just as well with affordable skin tints, and many drugstore brands offer metallic shadows, kohl liners, and bold pencils that fit the season.

Get This Celebrity Hair and Makeup Look- Kendall Jenner https://makeuptutorials.com/get-this-celebrity-hair-and-makeup-look-kendall-jenner/ https://makeuptutorials.com/get-this-celebrity-hair-and-makeup-look-kendall-jenner/#respond Fri, 07 Feb 2025 09:10:09 +0000 https://makeuptutorials.com/?p=47552 Kendall Jenner tends to keep her hair and makeup very simple, but every now and then she switches things up a bit. We love this super long ponytail and dark eye shadow that she wore to the Met Gala and today we’ll show you how to recreate this look.

Recreate Kendall Jenner’s hair and makeup

Makeup

Prime and moisturize your face to ensure flawless makeup application and smooth skin. After applying your foundation apply a dark shadow on the top corners of the eyelids and add a dark shade of blue in the middle. Bring the dark blue eye shadow beneath the bottom lashes as well. To complete the look add a thin layer of liquid liner on the top lids, then add your lashes.

Add a very light pink blush on the cheeks and a pink liquid gloss on the lips, then spray your entire face with a finishing spray.

Recreate the ponytail

You need freshly washed hair for this sleek middle part style. If you don’t have naturally straight hair spray some heat protectant on your locs and use a flat iron to straighten your hair first.

Then add a little hair pomade and use a tail comb to part your hair down the middle. Then, bring your hair down to the nape of your neck and secure with a scrunchie. Spray a little hair spray in the middle of your hand and smooth down any flyaways.

Get This Celebrity Hair and Makeup Look- Joan Smalls https://makeuptutorials.com/get-this-celebrity-hair-and-makeup-look-joan-smalls/ https://makeuptutorials.com/get-this-celebrity-hair-and-makeup-look-joan-smalls/#respond Wed, 05 Feb 2025 21:08:04 +0000 https://makeuptutorials.com/?p=47545 Joan Smalls never really has bad hair, fashion or makeup, but this look is one of our faves! This pretty pink makeup look by the supermodel is perfect for the summer. It’s girly and fun, but not over the top. The best part about this look, however, is that its so easy to replicate, and we’ll show you how!

Makeup Details

We’ll give you all the details on how to recreate this stunning summer vibes hair and makeup look from supermodel, Joan Smalls.

Eyes- You’ll need a very light pink or blush colored eye shadow to recreate Joan’s soft pink eyes. She also put some of the pink below the bottom last line. Makeup Geek’s Peach Palate has a range of pinky peach shades that will work for different skin tones. Top of the look with a pair of natural-looking lashes!

Cheeks- The same eyeshadow used on the lips can also function as a blush for the cheeks. You can also try this pink gluten free blush from Gabriel Cosmetics. Then top off the cheeks with a little bronzer.

Lips- Joan Smalls is wearing a very light shade of pink on the lips; it’s so subtle it gives a very natural look. You can go with a lip stain, creme lipstick or tinted chapstick. Different pink shades will look different on certain skin tones so find one that looks natural and go with that. Check out the swatch below if you need help. |

Hair details- Curly Half Up/down Ponytail

To achieve this half up/half down look section off your hair in two and use a hair band to secure the top half of your hair. When the top of your hair is in a ponytail take a small section of the hair and wrap it around the hair band, then use a hairpin to secure in place.

Next, use a curling wand to curl all the hair that is left out. Use a paddle brush and lightly brush the curls to loosen them up a bit.

That’s all folks, are you excited to recreate this look? Tell us all about it in the comment section below!

If you’ve always wanted to try this style, but dont know how to do it we have a great tutorial from The Fashion Fraction.

Boho braids Tutorial

There are many different ways to do the boho braids trend, today we’ll show you how to achieve this triple plait style as shown by Fashion Fraction.  Of course if you want to put your own spin on this trend, feel free to do so’ creativity is also welcome here!

1. Start with dry hair. This style is best done with clean hair, dry hair. After washing you can either let your hair air dry or use your blowdryer on the ‘cold’ setting to prevent hair damage.
2. Curl the hair with a curling iron or with a flat iron. Spray your hair with heat protectant before using your flat iron or curling iron. After curling the hair, use a large paddle brush to loosen up the curls then hold in place with hairspray.
3. Part three strands of hair like shown in the picture, tie them up with an elastic
4. Part one strand into three strands. One of them should be really, really small!
5. Plait a normal braid – due to the small strand you’ll receive the special look
6. Plait the second (middle) strand a little longer than the first you just did
7. Now plait the last strand and carefully pull apart all strands with your fingers
8. Remove the upper elastics and fix the hair again with the Taft Power Koffein hair lacquer

10 Artistic Halloween Makeup Looks You Need To Try This Year https://makeuptutorials.com/artistic-halloween-makeup-looks/ https://makeuptutorials.com/artistic-halloween-makeup-looks/#respond Mon, 30 Dec 2024 21:50:59 +0000 https://makeuptutorials.com/?p=44105 Halloween Makeup Looks

Let’s be honest, we makeup junkies get most of our inspiration from beauty YouTubers. Now that Halloween is fast approaching, you’ve probably been browsing hundreds of Halloween tutorials! Well, look no further– we’ve compiled the most creative Halloween makeup looks created by our favorite YouTube artists.

Halloween Makeup Looks: Worth Trying This Year

Check and out and prepared to be spooked…

1. Glam&Gore | Post-Apocalyptic Bad*ss

We all want to cry rainbow tears, right?
Make a statement at this year’s Halloween party with your effortlessly messy, post-apocalyptic bad*ss makeup. You can simultaneously be bright and punchy with your eyes, while being prepared for a nuclear wasteland with your grungy clothing.
The key to this Halloween makeup look is the color scheme. Go heavy on the oranges and blues, and blend out with analogous colors. That’s how you achieve the perfect rainbow gradient. Ground the look with some messy black eyeshadow. If it looks a little dirty, don’t worry! That’s the look!

2. Chrisspy | Gangster Clown

If you haven’t seen Chrisspy’s Gangster Clown Tutorial – Watch. It. Right. Now.
This is the perfect opportunity to practice your cut crease. The goal for this eye look is a sharp winged liner and metallic eyeshadow. Contrast your glamorous eye look with some artful clown face painting.
You can be that dangerous character in the corner of the Halloween party, looking mysteriously sexy.

3. NikkiTutorials | Glam Killer Clown

Clowns are here to stay for Halloween makeup 2017. In the words of NikkieTutorials, it’s all about being “creepy, but fun”.
This clown look is for the outrageous daredevil. You’re not looking to be a sexy clown part-time, no. You’re looking for screams and scares with this bone-chilling makeup look! Pair your terrifying clown makeup with a gilded crown to let everyone at the party know that you rule this Halloween town.

4. Desi Perkins | Melting Skull

Let’s add a little dimension, shall we? Now, this look by Desi Perkins might seem difficult. But really, all you need is a little gelatin. Take your time shading your half-skull face. Slap on a fierce eyeshadow look on the other half of your face. When all is said and done, a little $6 bottle of Mehron 3D Gel will add the melting dimension that you’re looking for. You can be spooky and slay at the same time!

5. Lustrelux | Pastel Skull

Perhaps you want to prettify your traditional Halloween skull makeup look. Lustrelux’s dreamy pastel skull is the way to go. Break out those colorful eyeshadows you never wear and play with some pinks, purples, and blues. Lustrelux layers multiple products, but you can achieve the same effect with a few metallic eyeshadows and a few matte shades. Make your eyes the focus and add some subtle shading to give a skull-like effect. Once you shade in some spooky teeth, the look will come together in the end!

6. Too Much Mouth | Pop Art Zombie

This one’s for the face paint lovers out there. The Pop Art Zombie is a classic Halloween makeup look. Nothing stands out more than neon paint under a spotlight. Let your creativity flow with this one. You can follow Too Much Mouth’s makeup tutorial and rock the lime green zombie look. Or you can switch things up and go for hot pink, or maybe sky blue, or perhaps bumblebee yellow! One thing is for sure: the dead have never looked this good.

7. Disney Evil Queen

Stand out from the crowd of Moanas and Belles this Halloween. Take a walk on the wild side and indulge your inner Evil Queen. Nothing says fabulous more than high arch eyebrows and smoky purple eyeshadow. Play around with your costume to achieve maximum Queen status. Accessories are sure to make the look – Bejewel yourself in gold necklaces and rings, and DON’T forget your crown.
One thing is for sure: you’ll be guaranteed to slay in this Halloween makeup look.

8. Bratz Doll

If you’re a glamorous makeup queen, then Bratz makeup look is your jam. This Halloween makeup look is the best way to satisfy your childhood dream. The best part is that it’s one of the easiest looks to achieve! No face paint, no gelatin, no complicated shading here. Just fun pink eyeshadow and frosty magenta lips!
Don’t be afraid to exaggerate your look – Bratz dolls were infamous for their hyper-thin eyebrows and pouty lips!

9. Jordan Hanz | Pop Art Wonder Woman

This was the year of Wonder Woman. She came back to the big screen in a big way – and you can be sure that nearly every Halloween costume will be Wonder Woman. A perfect way to stand out from the horde of Diana Princes is to try out this Pop Art Wonder Woman by Jordan Hanz! It may be a bit time-consuming, but the results are worth it. This artistic style of makeup will make your features POP.

MUA Tips: The Do’s and Don’ts of Bright Lipstick Makeup https://makeuptutorials.com/bright-lipstick-makeup-tutorials/ https://makeuptutorials.com/bright-lipstick-makeup-tutorials/#respond Fri, 30 Aug 2024 08:09:35 +0000 https://makeuptutorials.com/?p=30873 Whether you’re just starting out with makeup (like me) or you’re a makeup veteran (like everyone else I know), lipstick can be a tricky beast. Here are some do’s and don’ts to keep in mind when wearing bold, bright lipstick.

MUA Tips: The Do’s and Don’ts of Bright Lipstick Makeup

A punch of bright color makes any woman look modern, confident and stylish. While we’re fans of bright lipstick, the trick is knowing how to wear them the right way. Since the colors are bold, even the smallest mistake can be spotted from miles away.

Follow these simple dos and don’ts if you’re planning on sporting bright red, purple or pink lipstick.

Watch the tutorial below then keep scrolling for the step-by-step guide to a perfect kisser.

Pick Your Favorite Shade

The most important bit of advice for pulling off bright lips is finding the right color. Contrary to popular belief, anyone can wear bright lips so don’t be shy and give one a try.

Then Find a Hue that Works for You

Now that you’ve decided to embrace the power of, say, pink lips, all you have to do next is find the right hue of pink for your skin/under tone. So how do you know which hue looks best on you?

No products found.

First, consider the tone of the lipstick. Cool-toned lip colors have more blue in them and tend to look better on people with cool-toned complexions. Warm-toned lip colors have more yellow or orange in them and tend to work well on those with warm-toned skin. Confused about whether your skin’s undertone is warm or cool? Check the veins on the inside of your wrist: if they look blue, you have cool-toned skin; if they look green, you have warm-toned skin. If you can’t tell one way or another, congratulations, you have a neutral skin tone and can do whatever you like!

For more information on defining your skin/under tone, check out:

Beauty Basics: How to Define Your Skin’s Undertone

Next, consider the depth of your skin compared to the depth of the lip color. People with fair complexions may look washed out with lip colors that are too light, whereas very deep colors may not register on darker skin.

Finally, try everything. The best way to find your dream lipstick is by testing a range of different shades. Don’t feel brokenhearted if you don’t find your perfect red, orange or pink on the first try; pick another shade and try again!

In selecting the perfect bright lipstick shade for you, another thing to consider is the season. Yes, you read that right: Season. Sunny weather often calls for gloss or more natural tones, whereas winter is generally the time to bring out your vampy lipstick.

Practice!

It sounds cliche, but practice really does make perfect. Going from minimal lip color to a bold, look-at-me shade can be jarring at first but you’ll get the hang of it with practice. Everyone has to start somewhere, right?

Tip: Trick your brain into getting used to bright lipstick by wearing it out in low-pressure situations like getting groceries or picking up your dry cleaning. This will help you get used to wearing bright colors so that way, when you sport it for a business meeting, you won’t feel so self-conscious.

You can also start out sheer and gradually work your way up to full brightness. Simply dab your bright lip color on top on clear lip balm, then blend out with your finger or a brush. That intense color is now a gentle stain. Make it increasingly brighter as you gain confidence; you’ll be rocking intense color in no time!

Do Make Sure that Your Lips are Prepped & Primed

Bright lip color draws attention to your lips so make sure your kisser is in perfect condition. Keep it well exfoliated by using a gentle scrub every other day to get smooth, soft lips or rub your lips with a cotton washcloth when you wash your face at night.

Do Make Sure Your Teeth are White

If you love wearing bright lippies, it won’t hurt to whiten your teeth regularly. Bright lipsticks do not look good on yellow teeth.

Do Properly Prep Your Lips

Glossy or matte? Regardless of which is your favorite finish, you’ll need to prep your lips first by applying foundation, which acts as a neutral primer, on your lips. Want it to be even better? Apply concealer on the borders of your lips to prevent the color from bleeding.

No products found.

Do Embrace Lip Liner

When applying bright lipstick, everything must look perfect–sloppy application is not an option since the tiniest mistake can be easily seen. To keep your lip color in place, you’re going to need  a lip liner. Liner is key to ensuring your lip color goes on evenly, stays on for hours, and is outlined perfectly.

If you know your way around a lip liner, use contrasting liners for a cool two-toned effect or to change the shape of your lips completely (aka lip contouring). Experiment and have fun with it!

Do Try Your Best to be Precise

Regardless of what you are using to apply the color, do try to be as precise as you can. Sometimes even the best quality can look bad if it is not applied carefully. We recommend using a lip brush for exact precision.

Don’t Pile on the Lip Gloss

There are girls who still believe that overly applying lip gloss on top of lipstick looks great, but let it be known that no, it’s not. It makes you look as if you’ve just eaten a whole plate of greasy food and makes your lipstick more susceptible to smearing. With that said…

Do Dab it on Where it Matters

Before you give gloss the kiss-off, hear this: a touch of gloss at the center of your bottom lip makes your pout look fuller.

Do Remove Excess Lipstick

You can blot your lips with a tissue, or try the trick done by Johny in the video (above)–stick your index finger into your mouth and quickly pull out.

Do Make it Last Longer

Brush some loose powder over a tissue paper on your lips to set your lipstick.

Don’t Ignore the Inside Part of Your Lips

If you applied lip primer prior to using your lip color, the lipstick won’t budge and you’ll avoid uncolored patches on the inside of your lips (those hard-to-reach spots; you know what we’re talking about).

Do Tone Down the Rest of Your Makeup

This works for those days when you’re not in the mood to do a full face of makeup. All you need is a bright lippie and you’re set.

When it comes to bright lips, it’s all about balance. Bold lips plus bold eyes and full facial contouring? That’s a little bit overboard, right? Instead, keep the bright lipstick as the main feature and show off your skin. This combination compliments, rather than competes with, the bright lipstick; allowing your lips to remain the star of the show while giving you a polished, summer-ready makeup look. while also giving you a polished, summer-ready makeup look.

But if you want to take it to the next level…

Go for a smokey eye and bright light, being sure to go easy on the blush.

Pair red lipstick with light brown eyeshadows rather than dark black or purple eyeshadow.

Don’t wear red lipstick with red blush. Opt for a softer blush shade.

Make sure you don’t overstate your eyeliner and invest in a good mascara.

Don’t Be Afraid to Add Other Bright Touches

Go all in! You can add other bright touches throughout your look, like your nail polish, a clutch, or even a dress.

Do Take Preventative Measures

You’re really rockin’ that bright lippie, so play it safe throughout the day by using a straw with your drinks and inverting your lips when putting on or taking off your top. You want to be memorable, but not for having red stains on your silk blouse.

Do Carry the Lipstick with You

Touch-ups are very important, especially when you have a long day ahead. Make it a point to carry the lipstick along with you all the time.

Don’t Overdo Animal Print with Bright Lippies

When wearing a bright lipstick, choose your outfit accordingly. Bright lipstick is bold, striking and brilliant when worn the right way. When  it isn’t worn the right way, well, it kinda looks tacky and tragic. We don’t want that now, do we? Bright lippie is an attention catcher and your outfit should give way with that.

Don’t Wear Anything Pink with Red Lipstick

This is a serious fashion no-no. This is a terrible clash of colors and will take away the bold effects of a red lippie.

Go Out with Confidence!

“Can I pull this look off?” Truthfully, it boils down to whether you own it or not. You don’t need to look a particular way or buy a particular product to feel good about yourself–all you need is to love yourself and who you are and be confident in your own skin.

The Ultimate Guide to Making Instagram Makeup Trends Wearable https://makeuptutorials.com/instagram-makeup-tutorials/ https://makeuptutorials.com/instagram-makeup-tutorials/#respond Mon, 12 Aug 2024 11:46:22 +0000 https://makeuptutorials.com/?p=30399 What’s old is new again, thanks to Instagram. Here’s the ultimate guide to making those Instagram makeup trends wearable. Maybe not “everyday basis” wearable, but “date night” wearable.

The Ultimate Guide to Making Instagram Makeup Trends Wearable

From contouring your face to contouring your lips–these beauty trends originated on Instagram and became (almost) as famous as Kim Kardashian. But, as we all know, not every makeup trend on Instagram is wearable in real life. Case in point: electric brows. You know, when you color your eyebrows in with bright hues; where and when could you possible wear that?

Today we’re taking the biggest Instagram makeup trends and turning them into everyday wearable looks, so if you want to upgrade your selfie game from #behindthescreen to #reallife, keep scrolling.

Contouring

We’re all guilty of having tried this trend as soon as we saw Kim Kardashian out in public with chiseled cheekbones and a killer jawline. Needing hardly anything but the right bronzer, this technique is the #pro way to make your face look slimmer. To contour, you can use either cream or powder formula to draw line or dots on your face (cheekbones, perimeter of the face, bridge of your nose) and blend it all using a beauty blender or buffing brush. Say hello to a chiseled AF facial structure.

Baking

You can thank the drag queen community for this! Baking is when you use a translucent powder to set heavy concealer on the under eye area and “cut” the contour. It’s also called “cooking,” but that sounds like we’re on a cooking show and my empty stomach can’t handle that right now. This technique requires that you use a copious amount of setting powder, like the RCMA – No Color Powder, and apply it on your skin with a damp beauty blender. Let it sit for several minutes and if your face begins to feel like cement’s hardening on it, you’re doing it right! Then use a powder brush to clean off the excess and blend.

Strobing

A new name for an old technique. This trend has the same objective as contouring, except that instead of creating shadows, you’re drawing light on the high points of your face, especially the cheekbones. Swipe highlighter stick, powder, of your favorite formula onto your cheekbones, down the bridge of your nose, and cupid’s bow to get that glow. Just not too much because you don’t want to look like a walking disco ball, do you?

Instagram Brows

This is another trend that can be credited to the drag queen community. Also known as “HD Brow” or “The Fade,” this trend isn’t your average brow routine. It’s bold, well-defined, and for those outside of the makeup community, a bit harsh, but a beauty girl’s gotta do what a beauty girl’s gotta do so we love this trend all the same. To achieve the #EyebrowsOnFleek look, use a brow gel or pomade like the famous Anastasia Beverly Hills – Dipbrow Pomade and a slim eyebrow brush, like Anastasia Beverly Hills – Duo Brush in #12.

Halo Eyes

Halo Eyes is a popular look with beauty bloggers and editors alike (myself included!). What makes this Instagram trend so popular is its versatility. Regardless of whether you’re going for a natural, no-makeup look or a bold smokey eye, there is no going wrong (or looking bad, for that matter) with halo eyes. To do halo eyes, apply a dark shade of eyeshadow onto the outer and inner part of your eyes; connect the shadow to the crease using a blending brush (making sure to avoid the center part of the lid); then, take a shimmery or metallic eyeshadow and tap it on the center of your lids.

|

Dramatic Lashes

Not wearing long, fluffy lashes is like not icing a cake–boring! It’s a good thing Huda Beauty Lashes and Lilly Lashes have the power to take your eyelashes from basic to bombshell. Carefully put the falsies as close to the lash line as possible with a good eyelash glue to add drama to your eye look.

|

Over-Lined Lips

Thanks to Kylie (who later admitted to having lip fillers), everyone and their mother wants fuller-looking lips. If you’re blessed with naturally pouty lips, you won’t have to experience the struggling of over-lining, but if your lips aren’t naturally pouty, look for a lip contour pencil and read this walk-through on how to achieve fuller lips.

|

Ombre/Lip Contouring

Ombre lips have been reincarnated this year thanks, in part, to lip contouring. This technique requires a lot of products and precision that, if done correctly, can give your lips dimension. Ombre lips can be done by using a dark shade of lip color of the outer part of your lips, then a lighter shade on the center.

Click here for a step-by-step guide on how to make your own ombre glitter lip gloss.
