A Quick Back-to-School Makeup Routine for College Girlies

You don’t need a long process to walk into class looking refreshed. Focus on steps that brighten your face and define your features. This back-to-school college makeup routine will help you look fabulous even when you’re short on time.

Step One: Start with Skin That Wakes Up With You

Makeup sits better when you pep your skin beforehand. Cleanse your face and apply a lightweight moisturizer to hydrate your skin. If your moisturizer has SPF, you’re already one step ahead. Add primer if you know you’ll be out all day or need extra staying power.

Use a tinted moisturizer or BB cream to even things out. Spot-conceal where you need it, such as under your eyes or around your nose. Pat everything in with clean fingers or a damp sponge to blends fast without streaks.

Step Two: Make Your Eyes Look Awake

Eyes are the first place that shows tiredness but don’t worry, you won’t need to go full glam. Tame your brows using a gel or pencil. Just fill in the sparse areas and brush them into shape. One coat of mascara helps your lashes stand out and gives your eyes some lift.

If you want something a bit more subtle, swipe a neutral shadow across the lid. Choose a tone close to your skin or with a soft shimmer so it blends in easily.

Step Three: Bring Back Some Color Without Overthinking It

After foundation and eyes, a little blush brings back warmth to your face. Use a cream or liquid formula and tap it into your cheeks with your fingertips. Keep it high on the cheekbone to define and lift it.

If your face still feels flat, you can use the same product on your eyelids for a balanced finish. A bit of highlighter is optional and works well on cheekbones or the eyes’ inner corners if you need extra brightness.

Step Four: Lips, Set, and Out the Door

Lips can tie your whole face together. Choose a balm, oil, or sheer gloss with a hint of color to keep your lips looking healthy and hydrated.

Once your makeup is on, mist with a setting spray to lock things in place. Keep your core items in one bag so you’re not digging around before class. If you know your skin dries out by noon, toss in a small face mist or blotting paper for later.

Fresh Semester, Fresh Face

Back to school doesn’t have to mean back to pressure. When your makeup feels easy, your mornings do too. Stick to products that let your skin shine through, and don’t overthink it. You’ve got lectures and deadlines ahead of you, so your makeup should feel like the easy part. Now go swipe that gloss and slay this semester.

Match Your Back to School Outfits With These Gorgeous Makeup Ideas https://makeuptutorials.com/back-to-school-outfits-makeup/ https://makeuptutorials.com/back-to-school-outfits-makeup/#respond Tue, 08 Oct 2024 02:02:34 +0000 https://makeuptutorials.com/?p=32161 Are you excited to match your back to school outfits with your gorgeous makeup? If you ask me, now that I am a professional, I would love to go back to school. I know, I can’t believe it either.

I just think about all the outfits I used to wear, the things I learned and all the other things I would have learned if only I was more attentive in class. However, I am enrolled in the school of real life now and I am enjoying my time immensely. For a lot us, school might be a bit of a drag especially after a season of summer parties, but it really doesn’t need to be when you know how to have fun – clean fun that is, with makeup and fashion. Transition into the school spirit right after all the partying you had this summer by getting dressed in your most fashion-forward garb.

Match Your Back to School Outfits With These Gorgeous Makeup Ideas

Get ready to kick start your school year with these fun makeup looks anyone can rock

Whether you are the thrift queen or your style is deluxe you need to match your back to school outfits with makeup that is right for the campus vibe. Luckily, I have rounded up these beautiful makeup looks to match your back to school outfits.

Barely There Makeup

[instagram url=https://www.instagram.com/p/Byw1QnllSVB/ hidecaption=true width=625]

The no-makeup makeup look will never go out of style especially at campus. No heavy, cakey makeup, just a fresh looking face ready to speed through this semester. Comb and fill in your brows just enough to keep it looking full but not drawn on, brush a coat of mascara on your lashes, a tinted moisturizer to cover minor imperfections, and a pink gloss. A white eyeliner on your lower lash line will also help to give you that wide-eyed look.

Coppery Smokey Eye

Transition into the Fall season in subtle hues of autumn. A shimmery coppery shadow on your lids will give you just a hint of warmth but be careful not to pack it on too much because the key is to keep it light and youthful. Apply a nude gloss on your lips and a sheer blush and you’re good to go.

Colored Eyeliner

A pop of color on your lids will give you a hint of hip and youthful vibe. You can either create a winged liner or you can keep it in the classic shape.

Tinted Full Brows

This look is ideally matched to your hair color. Keep your brows full but not thick– just the right amount of product on and make sure to keep it lighter than your hair color. A pastel tint on your eyebrows will soften the look of your face and will keep you looking young and fresh.

Fuchsia Lips

Bring in some of the summer fun with a pop of color on your lips like this fuchsia lip color on Freida Pinto to keep your look interesting.

Bronzed Face

Show off your beautiful tan with a bronze look that complements your skin tone. Keep it warm and golden instead of orange-y (or worse, reddish) for a healthy looking skin.

Thick Cat Eye

If all else fails, a thick cat-eye makeup look will never let you down. Wear it with just about anything and it would still match perfectly.

Dressed up or dressed down, the perfect makeup look is an essential part of your wardrobe, just be sure to keep it balanced and remember, your confidence is the best thing you can wear.

Cute Back to School Makeup Tutorial https://makeuptutorials.com/back-to-school-makeup/ https://makeuptutorials.com/back-to-school-makeup/#respond Thu, 03 Oct 2024 02:49:44 +0000 https://makeuptutorials.com/?p=32736 It’s back to school time and there’s no better way to greet the new school year with a simple, yet beautiful back to school makeup look! Want to learn how? We’ve got the steps right here!

Easy Back To School Makeup Tutorial

This is a brand new year to learn and meet new friends. But before school starts, do some preparation by experimenting on new back to school makeup looks. It always pays off to be ready, right? It’s more than just making heads turn, but it’s also about giving you a confidence boost! Keep your beauty game on point with this back to school makeup look and nail your everyday outfits effortlessly!

What You’ll Need:

Note: These products are based on the tutorial, but you are free to choose whichever brand you like. I just want to give you the exact name of the products so you’ll know how it worked out in this tutorial.

Step 1: Prep the face.

Since this is a light, natural, and glowy makeup look, you’d want to take time prepping the skin. You won’t be using foundation so you should create a smooth canvas to work with.

First off, you need to moisturize. As I always say, this step is very important. You should always make sure you hydrate your skin all the time. This will get rid of any dry patches and will prevent the appearance of premature signs of aging like wrinkles and fine lines. You also want to look fresh!

Apart from your moisturizer, using a mattifying base would make your skin look shine-free throughout the day. Apply this to areas which tend to be oily, like your cheeks, chin, and forehead. This will also help the makeup last the whole day.

Apply the Olay CC Cream or any other CC or BB cream you like, with the use of a beauty blender. Remember that you are trying to achieve a youthful glow so going heavy with your base makeup is a big no-no!

Step 2: Conceal and Set.

Well, this is one way to apply your concealer. Create three lines under your eye and with the remaining cream on the applicator, apply the concealer to other areas of the face such as the forehead, nose, chin and sides of the mouth, this process creates a highlight and a lifting effect to your face. Blend it all in with your beauty blender.

With the Soap & Glory Kick Ass Powder or any other powder of your choice, set all the areas where you placed your concealer, you don’t want it to be cakey right? Set the rest of your face with the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder, again you can opt to use any other brand you want. Although, I particularly love the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder because it leaves a super tiny tint on the face but it never cakes on me.

Step 3: Contour and Blush.

Dust your face with your bronzer and darken your shading with the Natural Collection Eyeshadow. Use a clean brush and blend everything together. You want to provide warmth to your face.

Dab your blush on the apples of your cheeks to give it a bit of color. Choose shades with a warmer glow to it or those with a little sheen, remember sheen, not shimmer.

Step 4: Work on those brows.

With the use of your Soap & Glory Archery – Hot Chocolate, brush your eyebrows and fill them up. If you have naturally thick eyebrows, this may take only a short period of time. However, for those with thin brows, it may take time before you can fill them up.

Use the brow and lash gel to keep the hair in place. This will let your brows last the whole day too.

Step 5: Apply eye makeup.

With the use of a light-colored eyeshadow, make your eyes glow by dabbing a little on the inner corner. And then apply your mascara on both the upper and lower lashes. Make sure you curl your lashes first before applying your mascara. This will accentuate your eyes without applying too much makeup. Use a nude eyeliner on your lower eye line to make your eyes brighter.

Step 6: Line and Gloss.

Apply your lipliner to add shape to your lips. Fill them up with your favorite shade of lip gloss. For back to school look, I recommend using nude or light pink shades. These shades will make you look more youthful and fresh!

I say, party hard, study harder! Doesn’t this organized and clutter-free desk give you positive study vibes?

Back to School Hairstyles | Easy and Quick Dos to Try

1. Zoella’s Quick & Easy Hairstyles (4 in 1)

|

Zoella’s Youtube channel always has the best of the best in makeup and hair. This tutorial features 4 quick and easy hairstyles you can complete in less than 10 minutes! All you need is a headband, bandana, bow, and elastic bands. Who knew you can do so much with these accessories?

2. DIY Pastel Unicorn Hair

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KEuxeD2vBZw
Not all hair tutorials are about achieving updos and mastering braids. If you’re looking to change your look entirely (if only for a couple of weeks), try dyeing it different colors like Evelina! In this tutorial, Evelina uses Garnier Color Styler in Pink and Purple. Oh my, those pink and purple streaks look lovely on blonde hair!

3. Soft, Loose Curls

Loose curls have become one of the most popular hairstyles for young ladies. They are easy to recreate and give you an instant bombshell, ‘I Model For Victoria’s Secret On My Free Time’ look. The great thing about loose curls is that you can wear them by themselves, with a hat, or topped with a hair accessory of your choice. You don’t even need a curling iron for this one; your flat iron will do!

4. Running Late Hairstyles

Late for school? Don’t worry – we’ve all been there. We’ve got your back with these 3 easy hairstyles you can do for mornings when hitting the Snooze button is NOT an option. My favorite out of the 3 is the photo I posted above. All you need to do is section your hair half up half down. Take the half up section and tease to get that height and volume. Pin in place and then get two strands of hair from the side, twist them. and pin at the center.

5. Easy Sock Bun

By now you’ve seen tons of sock bun tutorials, but this look is so easy to pull off and, when paired with a peter pan blouse and jeans, helps you look effortlessly polished. So how do you it? Get a sock and cut off the end. Rotate it until you make a doughnut shape. Tie the hair into a high ponytail and then insert the pony in the sock. Position sock near the hair ends and start rolling down while tucking hair in until you reach the end. Yup, it’s that easy!

6. 2-Minute Elegant Bun Hairstyle

2 minutes for this hairstyle? It’s true. We couldn’t believe it at first either, but once we tried it we were amazed. This has now become my go-to look whenever I need to dash out the door in less than 15 minutes. Looks complicated? Not really. All you have to do is do a low ponytail, but leave two strands of hair (near the part and on the side). Turn the ponytail into a bun and secure in place. Get the hair strand on top and pull it in the direction of your part and twist it around the bun. For the hair strand on the side, pull it and twist it around the bun as well.

7. Lana Del Rey-Inspired Hair

Some days, you just want to get all dolled up. Even if you’re just going to school. For days when you feel like taking your look to the next level, try this Old Hollywood-inspired hair tutorial, aka The Lana Del Rey. All you need is a curling iron and the right curling technique.

8. Easy Fishtail Braid

I’ll be the first to admit that I still haven’t mastered the fishtail. But if you’re adventurous and willing to set aside a couple of minutes to practice, this tutorial breaks down how to get a perfectly tight fishtail braid. This tutorial is ideal for beginners and I reckon, knowing how to do a fishtail braid is always a handy skill!

9. Half Up Top Knot Hairstyle

We gotta give it up to one of the hairstyles that always makes us look like we at least tried to do something with our hair. I love the way this hairstyle looks on women – especially if you dress bohemian/rocker chic.

How do you pull off this look? Simple. Section your hair into two — half up and half down. Take the half up section and create a bun. You can go messy on this one and if you do, I suggest you tease the half down section a bit and also leave some strands of hair in the front for a more unkempt look.

Got a back to school party to go to? Try this brown and orange makeup look!

10. The Perfect Halo Braid For Short Hair

Never fear, short-haired beauties! We’ve got an easy tutorial on how to do an Around The World, aka Halo braid. This braid is beautiful, perfect for hot, muggy days, and utterly romantic. At first, it will take you longer to do the halo braid but with practice, you can do this with your eyes closed!

11. 3 Easy Tumblr-Inspired Hairstyles

Tumblr’s become a major source of fashion and beauty inspiration, so it only makes sense that there would be a video on how to create Tumblr-inspired looks. In this tutorial, Jess creates 3 cute, braided hairstyles. And my favorite is the double Dutch French braid as you can see in the photo above. I like that it is simple, but undeniably girly too!

12. 3 90s-Inspired Hairstyles

We don’t have to tell you twice how much we LOVED/LOVE the 90s. It was the best decade for hair, fashion, and makeup! If you feel as strongly about the best decade ever as we do, here are 90s-inspired hairspiration you can rock on your first day back. Cause seriously, you’re too cool for school right?

13. 4 Braided Back To School Hairstyles

[instagram url=https://www.instagram.com/p/BDip83BRYqL/ hidecaption=true width=625]
Braids are having a big moment in hair right now – they’re romantic, versatile, and can be used to create so many different looks! If you’re into braids, you’ll love this hairstyle tutorial by Roxi. Roxi creates 4 different back-to-school looks and my fave is this rose braid! I love that it’s so easy to do too! You just take two strands of hair on both sides, braid them, and then tie the two braids together. Next, take the two braids and create a bun and it will magically turn into a rose!

14. Big Curly Hair

|

This tutorial is dedicated to all every beautiful woman out there who has natural big curly hair. For some, it’s a curse as this type of hair can be very hard to manage and maintain. But I say, embrace it girl! Your hair is a rare gem. You just need to learn how to style it and you’ll be rockin’ the casbah all day every day! Truth is, you just need to use the right styling products and then dry your hair to get this big curly style! No wigs needed!

The messy top knot is NOT the sock bun. We repeat, it is NOT the sock bun. The messy top knot is the ultimate lazy girl hairstyle, so rock this with pride and let the world know you woke up like that. I love messy buns because they’re so easy to do. All it takes is just wrapping my hair into a bun and securing in place…and then making a little mess out of it. Fun, isn’t it?

|

I can’t forget my go-to hairstyle in school especially on those days when I can only do my hair while on the way to school–braided pigtails! They’re so easy to do, just make two braided pigtails. But recently, I learned that braided pigtails look better if your hair is curled a bit and if you loosen up the braid afterward. It is always best that you keep your brows clean. Additionally, you must also make sure that the shape of your brow matches the size and style of your glasses. If you are wearing glasses with bigger and bolder frame, you may want to make your eye brows more thinly and shapely. On the other hand, full and defined eyebrow will best suit glasses with thinner frames.

3. Play with your eyes

Most women wearing glasses think that the best way to do their eye makeup is to keep it simple. For your information, bold and striking eye makeup would work well for you too. Achieve a cat eye using your liner and opt for eye-catching eye shadow color. When choosing an eye shadow shade, it is best that you take into consideration the color of your frame.

4. Downplay your lips

We all know that the general rule is to either highlight your eyes or your lips—never both. If you have glasses with dramatic flare and you want to match it with an equally dramatic eye shadow application, then downplay your lips. Opt for lipstick in neutral shade or just settle with a lip gloss instead.

5. Blush is a must

|

When you are wearing glasses and you are keeping your lips as natural as possible, the best way to add some color to your face is by putting on some blush. It is best that you opt for a blush powder so that the product will not mess up your glasses. Opt for one in pink shade and apply it along the apples of your cheeks to make your blush look natural.

6. Add some shimmer on your lower lid

|

If there is one thing good about wearing glasses, it is the fact that it makes your eyes look a lot bigger than it really is. If you wish to make your eyes look more noticeable, the best way to do so is to put some shimmer color on your lower lid. Through this simple step, you can direct people to your lovely eyes. You will surely get compliments once you do this!

7. Achieve the smoky eyes

|

Most women who wear glasses think that they will never ever be able to pull off the smokey eyes. For your information, achieving smoky eyes is possible. There are just some things that you can do to successfully pull it off. All you have to do is to double the eye liner so that your smoky eyes can b seen through your glasses. You will be amazed at how gorgeous smokey eyes will look with your glasses on.

8. Smudge your liner

|

Since your glasses have already done the job of making your eyes look bigger, your only responsibility is to draw the people’s attention to your eyes. This can be easily done by creating a little smudge along your lower lid or upper lid.

9. Apply eyeliner all around your eyes

If you think that your glasses have made your eyes look smaller (very rare cases though), you can make your eyes look bigger by applying liner all around your eyes. Black pencil liner will surely do the trick!

10. Highlight your cheekbones

|

One more thing that you will love about wearing glasses is that it highlights various appealing parts of your face, like the cheekbones. If you wish to make the cheekbones pop out even more, you can just easily apply either light foundation or highlighter. Apply this around the cheekbones and your face will look as thin as ever!

11. Use an eyelash curler

|

Most ladies wearing glasses are afraid of wearing mascara as they are worried that it might smudge and mess up not only their looks but their glasses as well. Lucky for you, there is one more way that you can “safely” make your lashes look longer and curly. Just use eyelash curler and you will be amazed at how it can open up your eyes and make it look more gorgeous than ever.

Stick to these makeup tips and you will surely look rocking in your glasses.

1. Cleanse face thoroughly

Flawless skin starts with a clean canvass. Start by washing your face with the right kind of cleanser for your skin.

2. Moisturize

Find a good moisturizer. Pick one that will fit your skin type:

  • Dry/sensitive skin: choose a thicker cream/ointment that locks moisture in.
  • Normal skin: choose cream moisturizers that are hydrating.
  • Oily/young skin: choose a water based lotion.

3. Dab on some primer

After you moisturize, spread on a light primer with silica. This has a filling effect on the skin thereby reducing pores and fine wrinkles.

4. Pick the right foundation

A great foundation is a must for flawless-looking skin, but it’s tricky to get it right. Luckily, this post will give you a detailed tutorial on how to choose the right foundation for your skin.

5. Apply concealer AFTER the foundation

The perfect time to apply a concealer is right after you have already applied foundation. close to your skin tone. Choose a concealer that is close to your skin tone.

Conceal any dark circles under your eye by applying the concealer in a triangle shape. Blend the outer corners of the triangle with your fingers. Don’t forget to conceal the inner corners of your eyes as they are generally darker than the rest of your eyes.

6. Use translucent powder

Powder your nose, cheeks and forehead with translucent powder. Use a large, fluffy brush to dab it on your skin so you get a natural look and avoid caked-on makeup.

 7. Apply bronzer/blush

Choose a bronzer that is two shades darker than your skin. Use an angled, hard brush or a stippling brush to apply the bronzer, work in a cross on your face (forehead, nose and cheeks). To make your face look slimmer apply the bronzer right under the apples on your cheeks.
